An outside mat is absolutely required! We purchased these mats when we started full time RVing four years ago in two sizes – 9’x18′ and 9’x12′. We have found times where we needed both at the same time or just one of the two depending on the situation and campground. We probably use the largest one the most, but love having both sizes.

We have used these rugs in sand, dirt, heavy rain which left mud puddles, etc. In all these cases, the rugs have helped to reduce the amount of dirt that comes into the RV.

We, unfortunately, parked our Jeep on the rugs when our campsite at the time was small and we put holes in the rugs. The rugs are still doing their jobs well but it’s not as esthetically pleasing.

If the rugs are wet when folding for storage, it’s not always possible to get the dirt off the rug. When this happens we put the rugs back into their bags and the rugs dry well without mildewing. The dirt will come off when the rugs are dry.
