It has always been a problem dealing with the excess tie-down material once we have secured our kayaks to the top of our Jeep. These small, 6-inch bungee cords are the perfect solution. We attached the bungee cord to each tie-down strap and then we secure the rolled-up excess strap to the top of the buckle. This way, the excess strap is never hanging in the wind, beating against the paint of the jeep, and no additional knots or loops are needed to securely control each tie-down. This method also makes the tie-downs look neat and tidy for a VERY affordable price. We have used these bungee cords for the past two years and have not needed to replace them yet even though these bungee cords are always in the sun and out in the weather.
