Buttermilk ice cream is really good? What???
I know this recipe sounds crazy, but my mother made it all the time when we went camping. You don’t taste the buttermilk… Really! I replaced the sugar with Swerve and made it with the Cuisinart Ice Cream maker. It was amazing! Next time, I think I’ll use a little less sweetener though.
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 1 pint cream (not whipped)
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- Vanilla to flavor
- Blend ingredients and freeze in churn
- If no churn is available, the mixture may be frozen in the freezer.
- When of mushy consistency, put in bowl and beat with egg beater
